Hal 9000 (from 2001 A Space Odyssey) has been back to wreaking some havoc on KGRP! The station owner and tech advisors have been working feverishly to resolve the technical issues that have been threatening to derail the mission of KGRP - to Rock For The Generations. Have no fear, though; progress is being made and universal cyberspace will soon be spinnin' and shakin' and rockin' and rollin' with KGRP! Your patience in this process will be tastefully and tunefully rewarded!
In a dark studio, like a bleary-eyed mad scientist in a musty laboratory, yours truly's labor of love rides the rails to reality. Began the task of uploading the music library/files to my streaming service, and I'm happy to report, none of the songs that had to be converted to Mp3 have been kicked back. Yay! Took 12 hours to upload the '70s Various Artists files. Working on the '80s as I compose this... A huge thank you goes out to my technical advisors John & Jim Cooper for their valued assistance in this laborious process. They have not only been there for me for their technical expertise, but for emotional support as well. They truly are amazing and two of the nicest people on this big blue marble. True friends!... Just a reminder: The launch of KGRP has been set back to Monday, September 16. Thank you again for your support and you're gonna love it!...

This just into the KGRP newsroom: Due to continued technical issues with the music library/files, the KGRP debut has been pushed back to Monday, September 16. Unfortunately, about 60% of my songs in the library had to be converted to Mp3 from .M4A and .wma properties and are not being recognized in one of my links. The streaming service that I will be linked to also requires that my music files be uploaded to them individually, one song at a time and not a click and drag procedure. With the number of songs in my library, that is going to take some time to accomplish. My technical advisors calculated that if I upload my library to the streaming service 24 hours straight, it will take 7 days. Obviously, I won't be at it 24 hours straight! When I asked the advisors if September 9 would be possible, the answer was September 16 is more realistic... Good thing I was conducting test broadcasts and discovered this mess. It would have been embarrassing to be blindsided on September 2 and wondering why there were songs missing from the library... Believe me, I am relieved that I can forge onward, as yesterday at this time, I thought the dream was over. Other than my mom's passing, Susie saw me spontaneously cry for the first time. Full blown anxiety/panic attack brought on by thinking about the time and effort I have put into this project. My apologies for the delay! We are creating something special that we believe you will find entertaining.

The hope this week is that "test" broadcasts will begin soon. We might reach out to you to make you part of those tests in order to get your feedback on sound quality, etc. and to pick your brain on what you might want to hear and possibly add it to the already awesome playlist.
